
Meet The Team
The JCI Phoenix Board of Directors is made up of individuals 18-40 who are invested in creating a platform where young people can develop their leadership skills and change their community. Learn more about the Board of Directors below!

President
Samantha Blake
Samantha Blake is a Program Specialist with the Arizona Department of Economic Security and currently serves as President on the board of the Junior Chamber International (JCI) Phoenix Chapter. Before joining the JCI Phoenix Chapter, Samantha graduated from Towson University with a BA in International Studies with a concentration in Political Science. She served in Americorps for two years before joining the Arizona Department of Economic Security as a full-time employee in 2022. She is well versed in policy and local organizations that focus on refugee resettlement. Since her time working with the State, Samantha has helped Arizona welcome hundreds of newcomers and helped vulnerable members of our communities become self-sufficient.

In her role as President, Samantha serves as the chairperson of the Board and directs the activities of the JCI Phoenix chapter. In addition to these duties, she also serves as the liaison between the chapter and JCI's national level.

Vice President
Laura Mudd
Laura Mudd is a special education teacher at AZ Aspire Academy and is serving as Vice President on the board of the JCI Phoenix Chapter. Laura Mudd has a BA in Global Health and Justice Studies at Arizona State University. She's been teaching for 8 years a variety of subjects but heads the History and Science department of her campus. She has a passion for social and environmental justice, and is interested in building community outreach in the Phoenix area.

In her role as Vice President, Laura works with the President to execute programs, events, and trainings offered by the chapter.

Treasurer
Chase Winkelmann
Chase Winkelmann is the Treasurer of JCI Phoenix and a passionate advocate for leadership, entrepreneurship, and community service. As the CEO and Co-Founder of Winks Washes Mobile Detailing, Chase combines his business knowledge with his fresh educational perspective to create a platform that uplifts his community by supporting initiatives that foster growth and opportunity most notably seen by his foundation The Pursuit of Knowledge’s academic scholarships.
Chase is currently a sophomore at Arizona State University’s Barrett, the Honors College, studying mechanical engineering with a minor in business. In addition to his academic and entrepreneurial pursuits, he is an active volunteer and advocate for the special needs community, serving as a partner for the Tempe Unified Basketball Team. He is also a dedicated supporter of education and student success through his role as a board member of the Chandler Education Foundation and a member of its Marketing Committee.
In his position as Treasurer, Chase leverages his financial expertise and organizational skills to help JCI Phoenix drive meaningful programs and empower young professionals. He is committed to fostering growth, collaboration, and positive change, using his leadership to create opportunities that benefit both individuals and the community. Chase is eager to contribute to JCI’s mission of developing young leaders and making a lasting impact on the Phoenix community.

Secretary
Newlyn Wing
Newlyn Wing is a nonprofit executive with over a decade of experience with associations and nonprofit organizations. As the Executive Director of Junior Chamber International (JCI) USA, he works with national leadership to create programs and support systems that drive the JCI mission of providing leadership development opportunities that empower young people to drive positive change. Based on his background in coaching and a Master's Degree in Hospitality, he believes in creating environments and systems that allow people to reach their highest potential.

Newlyn is originally from Michigan where he completed his undergraduate degree at Ferris State University in Business Administration and Professional Tennis Management. After working for the United States Tennis Association (USTA) for seven years and completing a master's degree in Hospitality & Tourism Management from San Diego State University, he moved on to leadership development with JCI USA.
